A 3rd District judge has ordered a man accused of running a Salt Lake Valley prostitution ring that employed girls as young as 15 to stand trial.
Dewayne Hopkins, 26, of West Jordan, is charged with three counts of second-degree felony aggravated exploitation of a prostitute, third-degree felony exploiting a prostitute and possession of a controlled substance, a Class B misdemeanor.
Hopkins allegedly advertised his "exotic massage" service on Craigslist.org and clients met employees at hotels throughout the Salt Lake Valley, according to Sandy police.
The massages would end when the workers disrobed and performed sex acts, police said.
Judge Robert Adkins ordered Hopkins to stand trial for the crimes after a preliminary hearing this week. An arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 19 before Judge Mark Kouris.
Hopkins remains in the Salt Lake County jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
