This plan didn't come together.

The Utah Highway Patrol on Tuesday said it found 38 pounds of marijuana inside a car driven by the son of the actor who played Col. John "Hannibal" Smith on the television show "The A-Team."

The suspect, Christian Peppard, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of possessing drugs. A trooper stopped Peppard's rental car near 3000 West on Interstate 80 in Salt Lake County.

Peppard told the trooper he was the son of "A-Team" actor George Peppard and he was traveling to Dearborn, Mich., to visit his father's grave, according to UHP. While the trooper was checking the man's information, a police dog began indicating there were drugs near the car's trunk, UHP said.

Christian Peppard's passenger gave a conflicting story, saying they were going to Wyoming or Montana, UHP said. She also was booked into jail.
