The University of Utah will induct four former Ute athletes into the Crimson Club Hall of Fame on April 18 in a banquet at the Little America Hotel.

Basketball star Luther "Ticky" Burden, football great Jeff Griffin, basketball stalwart Wat Misaka and gymnast Sue Stednitz will be honored.

Tickets to the banquet, which also honors this year's Ute senior student-athletes — are available to the public for $50. For information, call 801-585-8837.

Burden was the sixth-leading scorer in Utah history, an all-American and a two-time first-team all-WAC from 1972 to 1975. Griffin was an all-American and two-time all-WAC football pick from 1977 to 1980 where he played defensive back. He still ranks in Utah's career top-10 in seven categories.

Misaka led Utah to an NCAA and NIT championship in the 1940s, and went on to become the first person of color to play in the NBA. The Ogden native helped the Utes to the 1944 NCAA title. After spending two years serving in World War II, he helped lead Utah to the 1947 NIT crown and then played for the New York Knicks.

Stednitz was the first all-around NCAA gymnastics champion when she was a freshman in 1982 and the college sports governing body began sponsoring championships in gymnastics. She was also the NCAA's first double winner, capturing the balance beam title, while leading the Utes to the NCAA championship. A 1993 injury ended her competitive career.
