The Minnesota Vikings have ended Brandon Burton's slide through the NFL Draft.

By selecting the cornerback from Utah in the fifth round on Saturday afternoon, Burton became the third player with Utah ties to be picked in the draft.

Burton, one of the best defensive backs in the Mountain West Conference last season, was targeted to go as early as the third round. However, he lasted until Saturday's fifth round, where he was taken by a Vikings team that sorely needs help in a secondary that was hit by age and injury a year ago.
