Bad news this morning out of Florida regarding one of the players who has committed to play football for BYU next year. Phillip Amone, a 5-foot-11, 220-pound linebacker at Dr. Phillips High in Orlando, will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL, according to this report in the Orlando Sentinel. Amone tells reporter Chris Hays that BYU coaches know about the injury and will still honor the verbal agreement. Amone is expected to officially sign with BYU in February. "They're fine with it," Amone told Hays, speaking of BYU. "I just gotta heal up right and make sure to go through the rehab right and keep [BYU] updated. They said they will stay true, 100 percent, so that's a relief." Amone is one of two linebackers from Florida who have committed to BYU. Bobby Wolford, a 6-3, 228-pounder from Jacksonville (Bishop Kenny H.S.) also pledged to the Cougars last summer.
