Springdale • The fifth annual Red Rock Film Festival of Zion Canyon will offer screenings in Springdale, Ivins, Washington and St. George through Monday.
Actress Mackenzie Phillips will participate in an actor's workshop on Saturday. Nineteen screenings are planned, including documentaries, shorts and fiction.
The mission of the festival is to encourage films that portray the human race in a positive light. It is an artist's retreat for film, cuisine, parties and workshops with approachable people. Shows run daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Travel packages are available, some including hikes with the filmmakers from the festival.
