* The 26-mile Mormon Handcart Trail extends from Sixth Crossing to Rock Creek Hollow near South Pass, Wyo. A story published in the Aug. 10 Salt Lake Tribune included an incorrect end point for the trail.

* The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints favors a constitutional amendment preserving marriage as the lawful union of a man and a woman. The church has not specifically endorsed Amendment 3, a proposed change to Utah's Constitution meant to ban gay marriage, as reported in Thursday's paper.
