National awards are pouring in for BYU quarterback Taysom Hill on Monday, after the sophomore from Pocatello, Idaho, rushed for 259 yards and three touchdowns in the Cougars' 40-21 win over Texas. Hill also passed for 129 yards. As of 10:30 a.m. MT, Hill had been named the National Player of the Week by Athlon Sports and the National Offensive Player of the Week by CBSSports.com. Hill, linebacker Alani Fua (defense) and kicker Justin Sorensen (offense) are the Independent Players of the Week, as BYU swept those weekly honors. It is the second time Hill has won the weekly award, and fourth time for Sorensen. Fua, a junior from Northridge, Calif., made five solo tackles and two sacks against Texas. He now has four sacks in his career. Sorensen made all four of his field-goal attempts (34, 32, 36 and 24 yards) and all four of his PAT attempts. Sorensen's four field goals are the most in a single game at BYU since 2000.
