LDS Business College's long-anticipated move to the Triad Center is set for Tuesday. The school's 1,300 students and staffers will be housed in the 10-story northeast building at 300 W. South Temple in Salt Lake City. The move is part of a downtown-revitalization plan, which will include the LDS Church's plans to make over the two Main Street malls and, later this year, relocating a Brigham Young University-Salt Lake campus to the Triad Center. LDS Business College has been at its current location - the Enos Wall Mansion at 411 E. South Temple - for 43 years. It's the school's second-longest stay in one location, noted school President Stephen K. Woodhouse. So what's going to happen to the current campus? "I have no idea," Woodhouse said. In its 118-year history, LDS Business College's programs have been housed in 15 different buildings. But its seven campus locations never have been more than half a mile from Salt Lake City's Temple Square, according to Woodhouse. The Triad campus will be the college's eighth move, he said, adding that the new location will double the school's classroom capacity. - Shinika A. Sykes
