Kaleb Cowart hit a two-run homer and Nick Buss contributed an RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning Thursday night, sparking Salt Lake to a 14-13 win over Sacramento. The Bees improved to 9-0 against the River Cats this season.

Turning Point • Todd Cunningham singled with two out in the eighth. Buss followed with a pop-up over third base that dropped between three River Cats. Cunningham scored all the way from first, making it 12-11. Cowart followed with a two-run homer, which was critical because Sacramento scored twice in the ninth.

Bees MVP • Quintin Berry went 4-for-5 and scored three runs. He singled in his first three at-bats. Including the Bees' previous two games, Berry had hits in seven straight at-bats, two shy of the franchise record.

Hidden Hero • Angel Rosa, the No. 9 hitter in the Bees' order, ripped a game-tying solo homer in the seventh. He also had an RBI single in the third, when Salt Lake scored three times.

Flashing Leather • With two on and two out in the third, Sacramento's Jarrett Parker hit a long fly to right center. Cunningham raced over and made a running catch on the warning track, preserving the Bees' 3-2 lead.

Angel Angle • With Los Angeles Angels closer Huston Street going to the disabled list with an oblique strain, right-hander Cam Bedrosian has been recalled from Salt Lake. The move will be announced Friday.

History Lesson • On April 28, 1994, pitchers Greg Brummett, Mo Sanford and Dave Stevens combined to strike out a franchise-record 15 batters during Salt Lake's 6-2 victory over Las Vegas.

Friday • Sacramento (Ty Blach, 2-2) vs. Salt Lake (Kyle Kendrick, 1-0), 6:35 p.m. —
