Antelope Island's annual July moonlight bike ride is one of the summer's most popular outdoor events. So, with registration open now for the July 15th ride, registering early guarantees a spot and a collector's T-shirt.

Those registering on-line through 8 a.m. on July 5 will be guaranteed a T-shirt, park entry and refreshment. After that time, registration is $35 per rider with no T-shirt guaranteed.

For information and registration, log on to http://www.AntelopebyMoonlight.com. Information is also available by calling Davis County at 801-451-3286 or by emailing neka@daviscountyutah.gov.

The theme for the 24-mile ride this year is "Riding with the Stars." This is a family-friendly non-competitive ride for all ages that is held on paved roads and begins at 10 p.m. It is held under the light of a full moon.

The ride begins at 10 p.m. at White Rock Bay. The halfway point is the historic Fielding Garr Ranch, where refreshments are served until midnight. Music and a bike rodeo will be held before the ride begins.

Prizes will be awarded to participants who decorate their bike as part of the theme. Judging will be at 9 p.m. on the stage at White Rock Bay.

Riders are required to use a working headlight and tail light. Helmets are required. Both will be for sale at the ride or contact Biker's Edge at 801-544-5300.

Proceeds go to Friends of Antelope Island for projects that enhance the visitor experience on Antelope Island.

Antelope by Moonlight BikeRide is sponsored by Davis County Community & Economic Development, Chevron, The Biker's Edge, Davis County Health Department, NOW 97.9 FM, Syracuse City, Friends of Antelope Island, A Company Portable Restrooms, Sam's Club, Recreate in Utah Magazine and Antelope Island State Park.
