A Hurricane teen fell to his death on Sunday after the cliff rocks he was standing on gave way and he tumbled some 200 feet.

Hurricane police have identified the boy as 15-year-old Pierce J. Adamson.

Adamson, of Hurricane, hiked to the top of the cliff Sunday evening with a family member and was standing at the edge just before 9 p.m. when the rocks gave way, police said in a news release.

Adamson's family member called 911 for help.

A Washington County Search and Rescue crew was called to the area, near 1100 South and 100 West, to help recover Adamson, police said.

An investigation of the incident is on going, although police say no foul play is suspected.
