An Ogden man was arrested Friday for allegedly killing his 8-week-old daughter last week.

Michael Lee Hatton, 25, apparently "physically abused" Avery Hatton about 6 p.m. on Oct. 2 according to a news release from the Ogden Police Department.

As the investigation is ongoing, officers are not releasing details of how the baby was injured, said Lt. Will Cragun.

She stopped breathing, the release states, and was transported by her mother and a roommate to a nearby hospital, where she died.

Hatton was booked into Weber County Jail on suspicion of criminal homicide, though charges had not yet been filed. He is being held on $1 million bail.
