Mark Bartelstein, agent for former Duke standout Jon Scheyer, said the guard will not attend the Utah Jazz's upcoming training camp.

It was reported Thursday that Scheyer had accepted an invitation to compete for a roster spot with the Jazz.

The 6-foot-5, 190-pound Scheyer averaged 18.2 points and 4.9 rebounds last season, leading Duke to the NCAA men's basketball championship.

As a four-year player under Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski, Scheyer was projected as a late second-round pick during the 2010 NBA Draft. He was not selected, though. A Summer League opportunity for Scheyer with Miami was then derailed after two games, when he suffered an eye injury.
