The Utah Blaze have signed lineman Ryan Blaszczyk and defensive back Quinton Andrews for the 2011 season, the team announced Thursday.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Blaszczyk played offensive line at Rutgers University and spent time with the NFL's Detroit Lions and the Hartford Colonials of the United Football League. The 6-1, 205-pound Andrews played for the Green Bay Blizzard of the IFL in 2010. He played collegiately at West Virginia, before transferring to North Alabama for his senior season.

"We are excited to have two proven performers," coach Ron James said. "We have a quality center and a play-making defensive back in our fold for the 2011 season."

The Blaze will hold tryouts for the 2011 season on Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Spence Eccles Field House at the University of Utah. For more information, call 888-99BLAZE. —
