The Interior Department on Monday announced the appointment or reappointment of five members of the Bureau of Land Management's Resource Advisory Council for Utah.
The council includes 15 members who provide local perspective with comments on federal land policies in the state.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced he is appointing John Harja, Gov. Gary Herbert's public-lands policy director, to a one-year term. Beaver resident Bryan Harris, a renewable-energy manager for First Wind, will represent the energy and minerals sectors for three years, as will Lowell Braxton, a Salt Lake City oil and gas consultant. (Braxton is a former council chairman whom the secretary is reappointing.)
