Matt Palmer rebounded from two consecutive poor outings and picked up his first win with his best pitching performance of the season Wednesday as Salt Lake defeated Memphis 10-0 at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

After allowing 15 runs in his previous two starts, Palmer pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings, allowing four hits and becoming the first Bees pitcher to strike out 10 or more batters since 2007.

"The biggest thing, I pitched well for the team," said Palmer, who attacked the hitters with a cut fastball and curve. "I was not throwing well...I returned to my old self."

Palmer fanned the side in the first inning. Memphis (19-26) also committed three errors that allowed three unearned runs. Three Bees pitchers combined for the team's second shutout of 2011.

Jeremy Moore, who finished a double shy of the cycle, capped a six-run fifth inning for Salt Lake (22-25) with a two-run homer to right field.

Salt Lake manager Keith Johnson described Palmer's effort as, "Just going out there and taking control of what's going on, good or bad." —

• Matt Palmer and the Salt Lake bullpen combine for the Bees' second shutout of the season.

• Jeremy Moore finishes a double shy of the cycle and drives in two runs.
