Sports television announcer Craig Bolerjack discusses his new contract with Fox.Overall take on the deal: I'm still learning the [details]. I think everybody is. But … I'm excited for being on the foundation of this new [Pac-12] Conference. I think it's fascinating. I marvel at how these deals are put together — the money involved. But also the potential that this conference has to be a powerhouse. I mean the SEC we talk a lot about; the Big Ten. All those conferences get some much more hype. But I'm kind of waiting to see UCLA, USC, how they rebound. And with Utah's entrance, I heard nothing but positive things at the media day. And some coaches — Chip Kelly, Mike Riley, [Lane] Kiffin — all those guys have a lot of respect for what Utah's done. I don't think they look at them as a team that is just to plug a hole; they look at them as competitors. And from my point of view, being from Salt Lake and having a chance to call Utah games now, it really excites me to watch this thing go.Previous experience calling Utah football: I called one last year at home against TCU on CBS, and that didn't turn out to well as we all know. And I was a little bit surprised at just how dominant TCU was on that given day, especially in Salt Lake City. But I think it just intrigues me, the foundation being built and the potential for this conference and what Utah can bring to the table. I think it's really a fun time to be a football fan in the state, and also BYU. Their independence, that's another spectrum. And with Utah going to the Pac-12, I never thought it would happen. But both these schools have great opportunities to make their names in different ways in college football.Specifics of his deal: I'm in hopefully for a while. Exclusive to Fox: Yeah. There's different branches. I'm going to have to learn how this all works. But FSN right now this year, FX, Fox, all the above. So wherever they want me, I'll be.College schedule: I'll start off with UCLA at Houston and then I come back and we'll do Colorado at home. It's all Pac-12 based. I'll probably see Utah two, maybe three times depending on how strong they play down the stretch. … So what excites me there is I'll be able to start and finish the season in a conference, and see this thing all the way through. I think it's 12 games with a couple NFL games scattered throughout. If they need more I'll be happy to help. Brian T. SmithTwitter: @tribjazzbsmith@sltrib.com
