A Cache County inmate who stabbed a man during a jailhouse fight will spend another six months behind bars.

First District Judge Thomas Willmore sentenced 19-year-old Fernando Infante to a year in jail on a second-degree felony count of aggravated assault. Infante was given credit for the time he had served since April 30, the day he attacked 18-year-old Rocky Rivera in a common area inside the Cache County Jail.

Infante was in the jail serving a 180-day sentence on a class A misdemeanor charge of unlawfully possessing a credit card.

Infante will have to complete 36 months' probation and pay a $1,000 fine after his release from jail.
