American Mothers, a national nonprofit that annually honors moms across the country, is seeking nominations for the 2012 National Mother of the Year and Young Mother of the Year.

Nominations are also being accepted for a new Mother of Achievement Award, which will be given to a mother who has provided service and positive support to her children and/or other children and families in the community.

To qualify for National Mother of the Year, at least one of the nominee's children must be over the age of 18, and for Young Mother of the Year award, all the nominee's children must be under the age of 18.

Nominees must submit portfolios by Jan. 15 via email.

Utahns are invited to nominate mothers by emailing search chairs in the three categories: Shirley Tong at ntong@comcast.net for Utah Mother of the Year; Jodi Wilding at jwboysrus5@gmail.com for Utah Young Mother; and Deanne Taylor at deanne@americanmothers.org for Utah Mother of Achievement.
