Moscow, Idaho • Stephen Madison hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining to help Idaho beat the Utah State Aggies 57-54 Saturday night.

Preston Medlin had a chance to tie the game with five seconds remaining, but missed short and the Aggies (10-10, 2-3) were forced to foul to end the game.

Madison's 3-point shot was part of a 10-1 run with just under four minutes remaining to help Idaho (10-9, 3-2 WAC) erase a nine-point deficit.

Djim Bandoumel came off the bench and led Idaho with 16 points and Deremy Geiger added 12 points. Bandoumel scored 11 points in the second half to help the Vandals in the win. Idaho's bench scored 25 points.

Idaho forced 16 Aggie turnovers and had eight steals in the contest.

Utah Valley 72, North Dakota 64 • In Orem, Alfonzo Hubbard scored 17 points and Holton Hunsaker added 16 to lead Utah Valley to over North Dakota.

Isiah Williams had 12 points and Keith Thompson 11 for the Wolverines (11-10, 1-0 Great West). Geddes Robinson had 13 rebounds and Ben Aird five steals.

Troy Huff scored 15 points and Josh Schuler added 12 for North Dakota (8-10, 0-1), which had travel delays that pushed back the start time of Saturday's game by an hour.

North Dakota was originally scheduled to arrive in Salt Lake City on Friday night, but flight problems delayed the team's arrival until Saturday.

SUU 58, IPFW 56 • In Cedar City, Jackson Stevenett had 18 points and nine rebounds and Southern Utah held on in the final minute.

The Thunderbirds (10-10, 5-5 Summit) led 57-52 after Jordan Johnson hit 1 of 2 free throws with 1:30 remaining. A layup by Frank Gaines at the 1:18 mark and another from Antwaun Boyd with 47 seconds left cut the lead to 57-56.

After Ramell Taylor hit 1 of 2 free throws to extend Southern Utah's lead to two points with 9 seconds left, IPFW had two shots at the rim in the final seconds, but a layup by Gaines was off the mark and Boyd missed on the follow-up.

Gaines had 19 points and nine rebounds for the Mastadons (9-10, 3-7), who have lost four straight. Justin Jordan added 13 points. Southern Utah also got 10 points and five assists from Ray Jones Jr.

Dixie State 84, Hawaii Pacific 68 • In St. George, Maurice Cole scored a game-high 24 points, leading the Red Storm to a comfortable win.

Cole also had seven assists for Dixie (11-4, 6-1), which shot 57 percent while holding Hawaii Pacific to 37 percent.
