Here are some events going on at the Covey Center for the Arts in Provo in April, with descriptions provided by the Center:Studio Theatre Events Date Night Dance7:30 p.m. - 10 p.m., $15/couple or $5 social dance onlyApril 7, 14, 21, 28March classes include instruction in Intermediate West Coast Swing and Waltz. Looking for something different to do on a Saturday night? Want to brush up on your dancing skills, or learn some new steps? Join us for our social dance class: Saturday nights from 7:30-10 p.m. Class will be held from 7:30- 8:30 p.m., followed with dancing and fun from 8:30 - 10 p.m. $15 per couple at the door, or visit our website for ways to save money when purchasing season passes. If you want to come at 8:30 p.m. for dancing only, the cost will be $5 per couple at the door. They appeared on the first season of NBC's The Sing Off, won ICCA a few years ago, and have toured all over the world. Children's Vision Dance Theater: Emotions in Motion7:30 p.m., $8, $6 childrenApril 7Juggling emotions is part of all our lives. Emotions in Motion presents a unique array of emotions including carefree, bored, happy, silly, surprised, lonely, fearful, stressed, peaceful, discouraged, courageous, mad and suspenseful expressed through mimes, jugglers, dancers, and more. Mapleton Children's Choir7:30 p.m., FreeApril 19Children of Mapleton perform their spring concert. Classical Ballet Academy: The Land of Oz7:30 p.m., $15April 20, 21The Land of Oz is a symbolic tale of the roads we take, the choices we make, and the destinations that follow. Dorothy is thrown into a colorful world of experiences. Many things seem familiar in this unfamiliar world, but one thing is new: the red shoes. They can guide those who wear them to what they truly desire in their hearts. Which desire will she follow? Only one will lead her home.The Land of Oz features music by Danny Elfman and choreography by acclaimed contemporary artist Lindsay Folkman and CBA director, Jennie Creer-King. Center Stage Youth Theatre: Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat10 a.m., 7 p.m., $9 main floor, $7 mezzanine, $6 balconyApril 24 – 28With "a crash of drums, a flash of light," Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is the internationally acclaimed musical/dance extravaganza by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. CSYT's production showcases the talents of 82 youth from Utah County, ages 7-18. Animated with a high-energy mix of music and dancing from calypso to country western to go-go dancing, this show is sure to be an exciting night out for the entire family.Shelley Irish Dance Company7 p.m., $8.50, $5 children 3-10yr.April 30The Shelley Irish Dance Company (SIDC) is Utah's premier Irish dance performing group. Directed by Tina Shelley and Johanna Lambert, the company has brought innovative traditional and contemporary Irish dance choreography to the stage, delighting audiences across Utah. This concert will feature the state teen fiddle and guitar champions and members of the group Firefly, Timpanogas Pipe Band, An Rogaire Dubh, and local championship Highland dancers.
