BYU football coach Bronco Mendenhall talks about Saturday's spring scrimmage at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The defense dominated the scrimmage, which only went about 40 plays.
Starting quarterback Riley Nelson did not play in the scrimmage. The other four QBs James Lark, Taysom Hill, Ammon Olsen and Alex Kuresa got two series apiece to move the team. However, the offense was never able to generate a sustatined drive, let alone a touchdown.
The longest plays of the day were turned in by running back Austen Jorgensen and receiver Dallin Cutler. Each player gained 14 yards on a reception. Outstanding defenders were Mike Muehlmann, Ziggy Ansah and Mike Hague.
