Davis County Sheriff's deputies Monday were investigating 16 vehicle burglaries overnight in West Point.

Deputies said they've received reports that 16 vehicles at nine residences were burglarized overnight in the areas of 25 North to 250 North and 1660 West to 1800 West. All of the vehicles had been left unlocked, investigators said.

Authorities said one resident may have spotted one of the burglars about 5 a.m. Monday. When he took his dog out, he told investigators he encountered a brown-haired woman dressed in all black. The woman said hello to him then climbed into an older model, black BMW and sped off, investigators said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Davis County Sheriff's Office at 801-451-4250.
