Here's your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.

Salt Lake City Council • Mayor Ralph Becker will deliver his budget speech for fiscal 2012-13; Tuesday, April 24, 7 p.m.; City Hall, 451 S. State St. The council's work session begins at 1 p.m.

Salt Lake County Council • Will receive a report on South Salt Lake's decision to take over management and operation of Pioneer Craft House, which the county also owns; Tuesday, April 24, 1 p.m. work session; County Government Center, 2001 S. State. The council's formal session will begin at 4 p.m.

Orem City Council • Conducts a public hearing on Community Development Block Grand funds for the 2012-13 budget year; Tuesday, April 24, 6 p.m., at 58 N. State St.

Pleasant Grove • Hosts an open house on the proposed downtown civic center, which will provide space for a new library, police station, fire station, city hall and performing arts center; Tuesday, April 24, 6 p.m., at the Pleasant Grove Community Center, 547 S. Locust Ave.
