Sen. Orrin Hatch's campaign manager says that Hatch is too busy with Senate business for more than one early morning debate on KSL radio's "Doug Wright Show" ("Hatch agrees to one debate before June 26 primary," Tribune, May 9).

I will donate two first-class airline tickets for Doug Wright and Hatch's opponent in the primary, former state Sen. Dan Liljenquist, to travel to Washington, D.C. And I will rent a banquet hall at a Washington Hyatt for a one-hour, prime-time debate so as not to infringe upon Hatch's work in the nation's Capitol. Utah deserves it.

That Hatch insists on radio as the only medium for debate predates John Kennedy. So believe me, my offer is legitimate.
