The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, for all of its promoting good fishing in the state, has - at least in my opinion - seemingly been avoiding talking about the issues.
Word about on-line fishing surveys, open houses in the five regions and possible regulation changes has come from the inner circles of the fishing community and has not been shared widely with the public.That being said, I was glad to see an email Monday announcing "Fisheries Open Houses" for the Central Region being held May 22 and May 24. My only criticism is they are landing in media outlet email boxes too close to the meetings to allow time for people to make plans to attend.DWR fisheries biologists will be on hand to talk about and hear input about possible regulation changes May 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the DWR's Central Region Conference Center, 1115 N. Main St., in Springville and May 24 from 6-8 p.m. at the DWR's Salt Lake offices in Room 1050 of the DNR building, 1594 W. North Temple.To see the proposals click here and take the survey.
