Conspiracy theorists on your guard: Less than a month after former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman announced his presidential bid to topple his former boss, President Barack Obama, Huntsman's father and mother paid the president a visit in the residence of the White House.

That's what the White House visitors logs show, but it turns out the Huntsmans didn't make it.

The Obama administration routinely releases the logs of who has visited the executive mansion and a check shows that Jon Huntsman Sr. and wife, Karen, were cleared to join Obama in his residence on the top floors of the White House on July 18 of last year. Were they trying to make peace? Was there some secret dealings going on?

Nope. Not at all.

In fact, the Jon Huntsman Sr. and Karen were invited the White House — and cleared in — to meet with the president as part of a group of wealthy people who have championed the cause of charitable giving. The Huntsmans, though, were unable to make the meeting.

That's probably a good thing. Could have been a tad awkward.— Thomas BurrTwitter.com/thomaswburr
