Utah landed a quarterback for the future Tuesday, when Conner Manning from El Toro High School in El Toro, Calif., reportedly committed to Kyle Whittingham's program.
"My plan going in was, if I liked the campus and felt comfortable with the coaches, I was going to commit," Manning told Scout.com. "I had some other schools looking at me as well but I felt good about Utah and they had been recruiting me harder than anyone so there was no need for me to wait on making a decision."
According to Scout, Manning is the No. 65-rated QB in the class of 2013. He is the second Orange County quarterback to commit to the Utes in two years after Travis Wilson signed with Utah last year.
