Sullivan & Son (8 and 8:30 p.m., TBS) is a pleasant if not exactly original - or overly hilarious - new sitcom.

Standup comedian Steve Byrne stars as a New York corporate attorney who returns home to Pittsburgh to discover his father (Dan Lauria) and mother (Jodi Long) are selling the family bar. Overcome by a wave of nostalgia, he takes the place over and his reunited with his colorful family and colorful friends.

Byrne is an extremely likable guy who makes "Sullivan & Son" worth watching. And there are some laughs here.
