Philadelphia • The Utah Blaze stumbled into the playoffs Sunday, losing their regular-season finale 69-34 to the Philadelphia Soul.

The loss dropped the Blaze into the fourth seed in the National Conference, meaning Utah (12-6) will travel to take on the San Antonio Talons on Friday in the first round of the Arena Football League playoffs.

The Eastern Division-champion Soul (15-3) finished the season with the best record in the league

The 12,765 fans at the Wells Fargo Center witnessed a milestone by Utah quarterback Tommy Grady, who set single-season marks for passing yards (5,870) and attempts (743). Grady finished the night completing 24 of 42 passes for 291 yards with five touchdowns and one interception before being relieved by backup Carson Coffman in the fourth quarter.

Blaze receiver Tysson Poots had 10 receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns, and Aaron Lesue added six receptions for 85 yards and three touchdowns. —
