Actor and comedian Bill Murray is in Salt Lake City today — and will be attending tonight's Salt Lake Bees game, where the team and fans will celebrate the record-setting 1987 winning streak of the Salt Lake Trappers.

Murray back then was part-owner of the Trappers, the single-A baseball team that once played Derks Field, where Spring Mobile Ballpark now sits. (Click on the thumbnail at left to see his baseball card.) The team set a record with 29 wins in a row, culminating on July 26, 1987 — with wins over Pioneer League teams from Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Great Falls and Medicine Hat.

The Bees are celebrating the 25th anniversary by wearing throwback uniforms at tonight's game against Sacramento. General admission tickets are $5, and Trappers players and staff members will be introduced and sign autographs in the concourse during the game.

The Bees announced on Twitter today that Murray would be there, too.

Spring Mobile Ballpark is having a star-studded weekend. For Friday's game, actress Geena Davis will throw out the first pitch and sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch. She's in town to mark the 20th anniversary of the movie "A League of Their Own," which will have a free outdoor screening at the ballpark after the game.
