The Utes added another local product to their 2013 recruiting class Monday as Alta tight end Harrison Handley paid Utah's coaches a visit and told them in person he was committing.

"It was cool," he said. "I wanted to do it in person to do something different and coach (Kyle) Whittingham and coach (Jay) Hill were there and were really excited, it was awesome."

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Handley picked the Utes over BYU and Utah State and said his decision is firm.

"I've had some good experiences up there and it just felt like the right thing to do," Handley said of his commitment.

Handley wants to add more weight to his frame so he can play tight end.

"I like to be aggressive," he said. "I can block people, but I don't mind going over the middle too."
