A 3-year-old girl struck by a car in a Grantsville crosswalk was upgraded Thursday to good condition.

Grantsville police Lt. Steve Barrett said the child had been flown to Salt Lake City's Primary Children's Medical Center Wednesday night in critical condition, since medical responders initially were worried she had sustained serious head trauma.

However, doctors later said her head injury was superficial, though the girl may have suffered a hip fracture when she was struck about 7:45 p.m. at Willow and Main streets in Grantsville. The girl and two children were crossing the street at the time. The other children, ages 8 and 6, were unhurt.

The 19-year-old female driver had not been cited as of Thursday, but Barrett said the investigation was ongoing.
