The Idaho State Police Department has identified the victim of a Lemhi County motorcycle accident as being a Utah man.

ISP says Jay Mason, 72, of Sandy, Utah, died from injuries he sustained when he failed to negotiate a curve on U.S. 93, 15 miles north of Salmon, Idaho, about 11:30 a.m. Friday.

The northbound motorcycle went off the right side of the road, throwing Mason onto the roadside. He was transported by ambulance to Steele Memorial Medical Center in Salmon, where he later was pronounced dead, ISP reported.

Mason was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, which remained under investigation Saturday, ISP said.
