One person was slightly injured Monday afternoon when a ladder ended up in the middle of Interstate 15 in Bountiful.

Troopers said the crash occurred about 1 p.m. when an unsecured ladder likely fell off a passing vehicle in a northbound lane of Interstate 15 near 500 South.

One vehicle stopped to avoid striking the ladder and was rear-ended by a second vehicle that failed to stop in time. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to a hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

The driver who lost the ladder did not stop, troopers said.

No one else was injured, but the crash caused delays for about an hour on I-15.
