The streaks are staggering.

In 2012, variety was the spice of life for the Salt Lake Bees, especially when it came to wins and losses. Despite it all, Salt Lake (72-69) is one victory away from achieving a winning season.

Thanks to an offensive explosion Friday and a quality start from Barry Enright, the Bees dealt Sacramento (84-57) a 10-6 defeat at Spring Mobile Ballpark.

"And also, too, as I've been saying since the playoff [race] went away, the guys are still trying to finish off a good season," Salt Lake manager Keith Johnson said. "There's still some things to play for, and you never know who's going to get called up at the end of the season."

Certainly Salt Lake can win one of its remaining three games of the season. Yet, given what has come to pass during this roller coaster of a season, nothing is certain.

For example, Tucson, with the third worst record in the Pacific Coast League, just swept the Bees at Spring Mobile Ballpark. Still, this year is an improvement over last season's 62-82 campaign.

Of course, entering August, any thought of a winning season appeared to be a pipe dream. That is, it was until Salt Lake rallied for a 20-8 record.

For the record, the Bees, boosted by the performance of arguably the best player in the major leagues, Mike Trout, began the season 14-6.

Since then, there have been streaks of 1-12, 10-3, 0-6, 10-3, 1-10, 9-4, 6-9, 20-8 and, coming into Friday, 0-4.

"That's the nature of the beast at Triple-A," Johnson said. "If you look at those streaks, you can look at our major league team and see when they were having a bunch of injuries I guarantee we were on a downward turn. ... That's what got us back in this thing. They were healthy for a while and we were able to have a consistent lineup for almost five weeks."

Salt Lake has had winning records in alternative months with positive results in April, June and August. The Bees are a stunning 39-33 away from home, 43-26 when scoring first and they apparently don't like playing on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

All in all, it adds up to being three games above .500 with three games to play.
