The Unified Police Department on Saturday found a previously missing and endangered 75-year-old man who had walked away from an assisted-living facility in Taylorsville on Friday evening.

UPD Detective Levi Hughes said James Marlyn Jones was found by family members. He had taken a cab to his daughter's home in South Jordan and then spent the night sleeping in his daughter's car, which was parked in her backyard.

Jones had been reported missing about 8:30 p.m. Friday after last being seen at the Golden Living Center, 4700 S. Redwood Road, 90 minutes earlier.

Jones has been diagnosed with dementia and is on several prescribed medications. He had moved to Golden Living about a week ago and was not familiar with the area in and around the center.
