South Sevier combo guard Race Parsons committed to Southern Utah over the weekend, according to his club coach.

Parsons, a 2013 guard who also received interest from Utah State, Weber State and Arizona State, decided to play where his father Rhett was a player before SUU was a Division I program. Parsons becomes the first South Sevier player to compete for a Division I since his grandfather, Lynn, played at BYU.

Parsons was the first local player to be offered by first-head coach Nick Robinson when he became the Thunderbirds' head coach this spring.
