The Utes have more than 20 former players on NFL rosters, with Miami boasting five of them. Linebacker Koa Misi, corners R.J. Stanford and Sean Smith, defensive tackle Paul Soliai and defensive end Derrick Shelby all made the Dolphins' final roster. Whittingham was particularly proud that Stanford made a roster as well as former Utah player Matt Asiata, who is with Minnesota. "He has overcome a lot of setbacks so that is great for him," Whittingham said of Asiata.
