It's always an honor, the players say, to represent your country in an international game.

But RSL's Kyle Beckerman, Alvaro Saborio and Will Johnson did not have a universally successful night in qualifying games for the 2014 World Cup on Friday night. Only Johnson tasted victory, going 72 minutes for Canada in a 2-0 victory over Panama at BMO Field in Toronto.

Saborio logged 90 minutes for Costa Rica, but the Ticos lost to Mexico 2-0 at home in San Jose.

And Beckerman had a pretty forgettable night for the Americans in a 2-1 loss at Jamaica in Kingston, their first loss ever to the Reggae Boyz that put them in a tough spot in their qualifying group. The midfielder was the man who committed the foul that led to a free kick just outside the box, and had the ensuing shot deflect off his foot and into the net.

He was subbed off after 57 minutes.

All three RSL players will remain with their national teams for World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday night, with RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando joining the Americans for their return game with Jamaica in Columbus, Ohio.

RSL does not play again until visiting Tauro FC in Panama for a CONCACAF Champions League game on Sept. 18.
