Jakarta, Indonesia • Police say a bomb being prepared for a terrorist attack has exploded at a house near Indonesia's capital, injuring five people.
Jakarta police spokesman Col. Rikwanto said Sunday that the strong blast went off late Saturday in Depok, a town on the outskirts of Jakarta.
Police say the house, listed as an orphanage but never opened to the public was actually a militant safe house. Five people were severely injured and hospitalized, including a man whose hand was cut off and a woman with head wounds.
Police are searching for two suspects who escaped.
Rikwanto says the seven people at the house were apparently preparing bombs for terrorist attacks.
