Two suspected thieves were hospitalized after they crashed their car Monday while fleeing from police in Davis County.

Witnesses called police about 7:30 p.m. to report two men had carried some large electronic items out of the back door of the Syracuse Walmart and left in a gold PT Cruiser, said Syracuse police Sgt. Heath Rogers.

Officers found the vehicle near 3000 West and 300 North and tried to pull it over, Rogers said.

The vehicle sped away, heading west on 300 North. The driver lost control and rolled the car about 4300 West and 300 North in West Point.

One of the men was ejected; he was critically injured and flown to a hospital. The other man was taken by ambulance to another hospital.

The PT Cruiser was reported stolen from Tremonton, Rogers said.
