Country Farms Organic by eCosway, a new health and nutrition store in Orem's University Mall, will marks its grand opening from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. The store is near the mall's East entrance, across from Sports Authority and by the food court.
Dress Code begins
Logan operations
Dress Code, a Utah company that sells menswear direct to customers through a network of style consultants, said it is offering its services in Logan. Dress Code consultants bring fabric swatches, measuring tapes and their style sense to customers' homes or businesses and advise them on wardrobe choices.
Union, Southwest
ask for mediation
A union representing about 8,500 ground workers at Southwest Airlines is joining the carrier in asking federal mediators to break a standoff in contract talks. The Transport Workers Union said there's been almost no progress made in 14 months of negotiations. Both sides say they asked the National Mediation Board to step in.
Sony to introduce
its PlayStation 3
Sony Corp. is debuting a smaller, slimmer and lighter version of the PlayStation 3 in time for the holiday shopping season. The global rollout starts Sept. 25 in North America. The Japanese electronics giant is struggling as its other businesses suffer from competition with Apple Inc.'s iPhone and cheaper Asian rivals. The company is banking on games to help steer a turnaround.
T-Mobile names
new chief exec
T-Mobile has named the former CEO of Global Crossing, John Legere, as its chief executive. The 54-year-old Legere takes over from interim CEO Jim Alling, who has held that temporary post since late June, when former chief Philipp Humm resigned. T-Mobile is the U.S. cellphone business of Deutsche Telekom AG, the country's fourth-largest wireless carrier.
Japan joins Fed
in easing policy
Japan's central bank ramped up its efforts to spur economic growth, following similar steps by central bankers in the United States and Europe. It said it would spend an additional $127 billion on short- and long-term government bonds and bills, and added it would make those purchases through the end of 2013, a six-month extension.
U.S. Congress rolls
out search engine
Congress has unveiled a search engine to help politicos, lobbyists, researchers, students and others find legislation working its way through the House and Senate. The Library of Congress says the website, Congress.gov, is in beta form and will eventually replace the existing legislative search system after a year of fine-tuning.
