A man who died in a head-on collision in Orem after suffering a medical condition in his car has been identified by authorities.

Orem Police Sgt. Craig Martinez said 56-year-old David Munson died Friday morning, but it is still unclear whether the Orem resident died from the medical problem or from the crash.

Munson was driving north on State Street when, witnesses told police, he slumped over in his Nissan Xterra and drifted into oncoming traffic. He collided head-on with a southbound pickup, causing severe injuries to the pickup's 18-year-old driver. Martinez said the 18-year-old still was in critical condition Saturday night. Both men were the only ones in their respective vehicles.
