Fort Collins, Colo, • In the days preceding Utah State's 31-19 win over Colorado State, coach Gary Andersen spoke of the need to get Matt Austin the ball and to get Kerwynn Williams touches in the running game.

The Aggies were successful at both.

Williams and Austin were stymied two weeks ago at Wisconsin. On Saturday night, the two seniors reminded USU fans why they were so highly regarded coming into the season.

Austin caught six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown. Williams ran for 205 yards and two scores, career highs in both categories. Their performances spearheaded an offense that woke up after two weeks of being relatively dormant.

"We made it a point of getting those two the ball," Andersen said. "They needed to be involved in the offense and it's a good thing they did get involved. Those performances by both of them were huge."

Now, with a 3-1 record, Utah State comes home and faces a UNLV team that has just a single win on the season. The Aggies will be the favored team. How will they handle it?

Several players were upset with the finish to the CSU win, believing that they had let up with victory in hand. Because of that, an emphasis this week will be to "finish" games, to make sure that they play a full four quarters.

"We weren't happy with the way we finished up," Williams said. "We can't let up. We have to go out and play until the end. We'll clean some stuff up and move on."

Defensively, USU set the tone on the first possession, sacking Rams quarterback Garrett Grayson twice in the first three plays and three times in the first two possessions. Colorado State had 61 total yards in the first half.

In UNLV, Utah State will see a team that throws the ball the majority of the time. The Aggies will see their secondary tested because of it.
