Harley Spier tied the game in the 88th minute, setting up overtime after the Utes had fallen behind when Washington State scored only eight minutes in. Katie Taylor knocked in the game-winning goal for the Utes in overtime to lift Utah's women's soccer team over Washington State 2-1 in Salt Lake City. The Cougars outshot the Utes 23-9, but Utah goalkeeper Luke Lindsey made 10 saves to preserve the Utes' first Pac-12 win.

Idaho State 2, Southern Utah 1 • In Pocatello, Idaho, the Thunderbirds tied the game in the 79th minute with a goal by Sydney Cook, but the tie was short-lived as Idaho State knocked in the game-winner in the last seconds of the game.

Utah State 0, New Mexico State 0 (2OT) • Utah State outshot its opponent 16-12 with 11 shots on goal, but they turned up fruitless as the teams ended with a tie in Las Cruces, N.M. Jennifer Flynn led USU with four shots in the team's WAC opener. USU goalkeeper Ashlyn Mulford made five saves, and freshman replacement Jeannie Woller made a save in the final 43 seconds.

Northern Arizona 1, Weber State 0 • Despite a season-high 24 shots, the Wildcats fell in Ogden against their Big Sky opponent. Three WSU players had four shots each, but they were downed by the Lumberjacks' 39th-minute goal. The Wildcats outshot Northern Arizona 11-1 in the second period but came up scoreless in the Big Sky Conference matchup.

Men's soccer

Westminster 2, Sterling 1 • The Griffins scored both of their goals in the first half and then held on to beat Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. Westminster outshot Sterling 14-11, but had to make six saves to its opponent's three.

Women's volleyball

Salt Lake Community College 3, Colorado Northwestern 0 • The Bruins dominated in Taylorsville, winning in straight sets 25-14, 25-12, 25-8 during its "Dig Pink" night. Freshman Adria Downs led SLCC with eight kills.

California Baptist 3, Dixie State 1 • The Red Storm lost in St. George 21-25, 25-19, 19-25, 17-25. Brita Jensen led Dixie State with 11 kills, one ace and one block. Mercedes O'Neal also had 11 kills, and Shelby Sorenson had 19 assists.

UNLV 3, Utah Valley 1 • The Wolverines lost in Las Vegas on Friday, falling to .500 on the season. Kalani Norris led UVU with 12 kills — tying her career high — and eight digs.

Weber State 3, Montana 2 • The Wildcats won a back-and-forth game against the Grizzlies, ending up on top 25-27, 25-16, 25-21, 17-25, 15-13 in Missoula, Mont. Junior Piper Wahlin set a career high with 18 kills and nine digs to lead Weber.

Softball

Utah Valley 6, Southern Idaho 2 • The Wolverines won their season opener in Orem.

Men's golf

The Utes are tied for 10th in the William H. Tucker Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., after two rounds of play in the tournament. Junior Casey Halliday broke the top 10 individual standings and is tied for ninth.
