The University of California women's soccer team defeated Utah 3-1 Sunday in a Pac-12 game at Ute Field.

Junior midfielder Harley Spier scored Utah's only goal in the 87th minute.

Utah (7-4-2, 2-3 Pac-12) outshot Cal (11-3-0, 4-1) 17-12, but goalkeeper Emily Cooper made 10 saves for the Golden Bears.

Cal led 1-0 at halftime.

Utah State 4, Texas State 0 • In Logan, the Aggies scored all four of their goals before halftime and held on for the Western Athletic Conference win. With the victory, Utah State (7-2-6, 2-0-2) moved into first place. Texas State fell to 5-9-1 and 2-2-0.

Lexie Morgan, Lauren Roundy, Jennifer Flynn and Jade Tarver each scored for Utah State, while Mari Miyashiro had two assists.

Portland State 3, Southern Utah 0 • In Cedar City, the Thunderbirds (1-9-1, 0-5-0) remained winless in the Big Sky Conference.

Westminser 1, Ashford 0 (OT) • Ryan Smith scored in the 106th minute to lift the Griffins over the visitors from Iowa.
