The Air Force's flying mission over the Utah Test and Training Range will be the topic of a presentation and open house in West Wendover, Nev., on Monday night.

Pilots of the 388th Fighter Wing at Hill Air Force Base and UTTR officials will be available to discuss the range at an open house after a formal presentation. It begins at 7 p.m. at the West Wendover Branch Library, 590 Camper Drive, West Wendover, Nev.

Richard Essary, spokesman for Hill Air Force Base, said there is no specific issue on the agenda.

The training range in northwestern Utah and eastern Nevada is about 100 miles west of the Utah base. The range is the largest block of special use airspace in the country, and Defense Department aircrews use it to train for air-to-air combat, air-to-ground inert and live practice bombing and for gunnery training.

"We invite those who live in, under, or around our air space and range to come and meet with us," said Col. Rick LeBlanc, UTTR commander, according to a news release. "We know our neighbors hear and see us as our jets use the UTTR air spaceā€¦ This is our time to listen to what the community has to say."
