"We are celebrating a new look, a new approach inside and out as a sign of how McDonald's is changing with the times to give our customers a dining experience that's more inviting," said restaurant operator Chuck Sparrer. "We believe customers deserve freshly prepared, quality food served inside an environment that is modern, dynamic, enjoyable and comfortable."
Highlights of the redesigned restaurant include an expanded dining area, a new, modern exterior, redesigned landscaping that includes new grass that grows slower and requires less water and an enhanced double-lane drive-through for faster service. The drive thru is now open 24-hours a day.
All exterior lighting is now LED to reduce power usage and inside, customers will have access to free Wi-Fi.
The restaurant added 11 employees during the remodeling process and now employs 60 at the Redwood Road location.
This is the 40th restaurant in Utah to undergo a redesign with a more contemporary look since the chain's nationwide revamp.
Last year, McDonald's USA announced a $1 billion investment to redesign the majority of its 14,000 U.S. restaurants by 2015. Last year, McDonald's and its franchisees remodeled 600 restaurants and rebuilt 200 nationwide. This year, McDonald's is targeting 800 new remodels, 225 rebuilds and 175 new store openings.
